WM Morrisons specified the Strongduct system to be ducted to the ventilation system at its new store in Verwood, Dorset.

The Strongduct system was put forward as it offered superior thermal conductivity and a significant cost saving to mineral wool and aluminum cladding. The original spec required the supply air ductwork to be insulated in mineral wool and cladded in aluminum sheet metal to protect the ductwork from inclement weather and seagulls.

By specifying Strongduct, the build programme was dramatically improved and the insulation spec was upgraded to a greener phenolic product which boasts a BREEAM A rating. There was also a significant reduction in materials required to be delivered to site.

The system is approximately 20% lighter than a metal system insulated in mineral wool and cladded in ductwrap.
